Moms Who Inspire Me: April Groves

December 19th, 2010

I first met April several years ago through eWomenNetwork. She was on her way to becoming a mom again for the fourth time. She was so happy and energetic, I thought that must be how all women feel during pregnancy. It was false advertising.

What I love most about April is how she is never afraid to try something new. If she has an idea, she goes for it. If it doesn’t work out, she doesn’t let it bring her down, she just reinvents herself. One of the things I love most is April’s weekly email newsletter, Turn Around Tuesday. It’s good advice for all women, not just moms, and is usually filled with something to help you get the boost you need to make it through your week.

From a recent email:

Today I encourage you to consider those things that make you faithful. Think about the importance of believing in things not seen. Understand that not seeing them, not knowing them, not touching them, not even doubting their existence makes them any less real or unimportant. Things that move people, that give people faith to believe that there is a reason and there is a way is one of the most powerful forces in the world. What a wonderful thing it would be to start off our new year in good realization of what that means to us personally.

May we all be able to be like April and find ways to reinvent ourselves when challenges seem overwhelming.
